1. What is the difference between DMDMH and Casson?

1. Different sterilization mechanisms:

Casson kills bacteria by acting on the nucleus of bacteria to denature cellular proteins.

DMDM hydantoin kills bacteria by dissolving their cell membranes and causing the loss of cell tissue.

2. Use different pH ranges:

Casson is not recommended for use in alkaline environments. For example, soap-based body wash (PH>9) is not suitable and will reduce the antibacterial effect. Since Casson contains metal salts as stabilizers, it is not suitable for transparent products of the Carbo system because precipitation will occur.

3. Different usage costs

Casson as a preservative in shampoo is more cost-effective than DMDMH, because DMDMH is usually added in an amount of 0.2-0.3%.
